The mediation trip was announced by Ukraine on Thursday. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at the time that Witkoff and Kushner were expected to arrive in Kyiv “in the coming days.” The White House has not commented on the matter, however.
The two American envoys have previously visited Moscow several times to discuss how peace can be achieved. However, they have not visited Kyiv, despite repeated Ukrainian invitations.
