On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a hospital ship would be sent to Greenland. The response from Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen was a "no thanks," clarifying that Greenland already has public healthcare.
"Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen should be ashamed!" writes U.S. Greenland envoy Jeff Landry on X.
Landry says he has spoken to many Greenlanders who say their biggest problem in everyday life is healthcare.
"A healthy Greenland is critical to U.S. national security," Landry writes, pledging that "the United States is committed to defending Greenland."
