During the second quarter of this year, growth in the US amounted to 3.8 percent.
The figures were delayed due to the federal government shutdown in the fall and were originally scheduled to be published on October 30.
On Tuesday, fresh figures from the US industry also came out, showing that production in November increased by 0.2 percent compared to October. This was slightly more than the expected increase of 0.1 percent.
However, new orders for manufacturing fell 2.2 percent in October, according to statistics from the Census Bureau. This was a bigger decline than the expected decline of 1.5 percent.
