In December, the Trump administration paused leases for five wind farms under construction off the US East Coast. Now it is clear that one of the projects, Revolution Wind, can be resumed following a court order.
“The project will resume construction work as soon as possible,” a statement said. Danish energy company Ørsted is a major owner of the wind power project.
The park is being built in the ocean off the state of Rhode Island. It consists of 65 turbines and is 87 percent complete.
The Trump administration justified the paused agreements by saying that the wind turbines could interfere with radar systems and mislead US defenses.
