After about six weeks of ceasefire, the US is now reportedly preparing new strikes in the conflict with Iran, both Axios and CBS report. However, no decision has been made yet.
Axios reports, citing sources close to the president, that Donald Trump is “seriously considering” renewed attacks.
In addition, Trump himself has announced that he will not attend his son's wedding celebration this weekend due to "circumstances relating to the government."
According to CBS, some US military personnel have canceled their Memorial Day celebrations on Monday pending a decision on possible attacks. In parallel, forces stationed in the Middle East are under review.
At the same time, attempts are underway to reach an agreement between the countries, and the army chief of the mediating country, Pakistan, arrived in Iran on Friday for talks.
