In a post on X, they claim that the USA has sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General António Guterres to urge that Albanese's mission not be renewed.
"We condemn her aggressive anti-Semitism, which demonizes Israel and supports Hamas. (...) Her re-election would show that the UN tolerates anti-Semitic hatred and support for terrorism", the delegation writes.
Albanese has been one of the most vocal critics of Israel's warfare in Gaza and has repeatedly claimed that Israel's actions can be defined as genocide.
Israel, in turn, has directed sharp criticism against Albanese and imposed an entry ban on her to Israel, since she denied that the terrorist-designated Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, was anti-Semitic.
