According to the US regional military command CENTCOM, "military pressure is being maintained on the remaining elements of the terrorist network." The airstrikes were aimed at "infrastructure and military depots." In total, there were ten waves of attacks.
The US has also been actively involved in transferring thousands of ISIS members from prison camps in Syria to prison facilities in Iraq. The camps in Syria were previously run by Kurdish groups that were forced out by the Syrian army.
