If it goes through, the purchase will be financed by Ukraine with the help of grants from the EU and the US military fund FMF (Foreign Military Financing), from Joe Biden's time as president, the news agency reports.
The $2.7 billion deal includes upgrades to Ukrainian air defences as well as related equipment and services, but is currently still only a proposal and must be reviewed by Congress.
