After Russian and American envoys met on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the country "expects meetings next week."
In his daily address to the nation, Zelenskyy said, according to AFP, that "Ukraine is ready to work in all formats" and that he and his staff are preparing for meetings.
"It is important that we achieve results and that the meetings take place."
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is waiting for word from the United States about upcoming talks and about how Saturday's meeting in Miami went.
There, the Russian delegation, led by envoy Kirill Dmitriev, met with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, among others. After the meeting, Witkoff stated on X that the meeting was “productive and constructive.”
