Settlers near Nablus have been blocking Palestinian homes, including one owned by a US citizen, since Sunday, residents say, preventing them from accessing food and other necessities.
"The actions of those who carried out this horrific act of terrorism to intimidate and harass this family are repugnant," writes US Ambassador Mike Huckabee on X.
The statement attracts extra attention because Huckabee usually supports what the world sees as illegal settlements in the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967.
Violence against Palestinians by Israeli settlers in the West Bank has increased sharply since Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which marked the start of the Gaza war.
