In the capital Sanaa, controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi movement, two people were killed in an attack on a building. In an area near al-Rawdah, north of Sanaa, an attack on a residential area injured nine people, including two women and three children, writes the Houthi-controlled news agency Saba.

In parallel, Israel announces that it shot down a drone launched from Yemen during the night to Sunday.

"The air defense system was used in accordance with our regulations," writes the Israeli military in a post on the messaging service Telegram.

According to the military, the drone was neutralized before it crossed the border into Israel.

The Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen regularly fires drones at Israel since the war in Gaza broke out in October 2023. Even ships have been attacked in the Red Sea.

Since March, Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen have been subjected to almost daily American airstrikes. According to the Houthi movement, a total of over 200 people have been killed in the attacks.
