On Thursday, only 165 of the 565 members present voted to convict von der Leyen. 390 members voted against conviction and 10 abstained.
The vote had been forced by the far-right group PFE, mainly in protest against von der Leyen's support for and handling of the free trade agreement with the Mercosur countries in South America.
This is the fourth time since this summer that the Commission President has faced a vote of confidence. In the three previous ones, she was also far from being defeated, receiving only 175, 179 and 133 votes to convict, respectively.
