Broad S&P 500 index rose 0.5 percent, Dow Jones industrial index increased 0.9 percent and Nasdaq's technology-heavy composite index lifted 0.2 percent.
GE Aerospace, which manufactures jet engines, rose 6.6 percent after the company reported positive figures for the previous quarter. Among other things, the company's sales increased by 50 percent to 12.9 billion dollars, equivalent to 142 billion kronor.
Streaming giant Netflix, whose stock surged 9.7 percent on Wednesday, continued to rise, now by 3.2 percent.
On the other hand, Electronic Arts went in the opposite direction. The stock plummeted almost 17 percent after the game company announced declining revenues, partly due to weak sales of the soccer game EA Sports FC25.
