It was plus for most leading stock exchange indexes in Asian markets during the initial hours of trading on Thursday, in the wake of the upswing on Wall Street.
Hong Kong was strongly up, where the Hang Seng index was noted at plus 0.9 percent, while the composite indexes in Shanghai and Shenzhen were slightly up, plus 0.2 and 0.1 percent, respectively.
In Tokyo, it was also up. The Nikkei 225 index was plus 0.5 percent, while the broader Topix stood at 0.1 percent up.
In South Korea, the direction for the Kospi index was up, plus 1.0 percent.
