It looked for a long time like it would be an expected win in Austria – Red Bull's Max Verstappen was clearly in first place and McLaren's Lando Norris close behind.

But with seven laps left, the stars collided and both cars were damaged. Verstappen got a puncture and Norris was forced to retire.

Then Mercedes driver George Russell took the chance. He took over first place and could then take his second win in his career.

It was tough out there, Verstappen and Norris drove hard. I'm pleased that we could keep up.

I'm proud to be back on top of the podium again, the team has worked so hard. The last three races have been good for us, and there's more to come, says Russell after the win.

McLaren's Oscar Piastri came in second ahead of third-placed Carlos Sainz, Ferrari.

Verstappen finished fifth.
