Uppsala University is to be assigned the task of being the educational institution for police training, proposes the Police Authority in a report submitted to the government.

The Police Authority has been tasked with investigating how the number of places at the police training program should be expanded in order for the government's goal of more police officers to be achieved.

”Uppsala University is a well-reputed institution of higher education in an appreciated student city. We believe that they have good conditions to conduct a really good education. Moreover, the location is important since a large part of our police growth will take place in the Stockholm region”, says the National Police Commissioner Petra Lundh in a press release.

Currently, police training programs are available at Malmö University, Linnaeus University in Växjö, Borås College, Södertörn College, and Umeå University.
