In an email to guardians and employees in Uppsala, the municipality now confirms that two of the victims in Tuesday's triple shooting were students at schools in the city. One person attended elementary school and the other attended a high school.
"We are many who have known and taught the students in our various activities that are now affected by a great sorrow", writes Education Director Susana Olsson Casas, according to Upsala Nya Tidning.
It was on Tuesday afternoon that three people were shot dead at a hair salon at Vaksala square in Uppsala. A couple of hours after the deed, a 16-year-old boy was arrested, who is now detained on probable cause. He is said to have previously escaped from an HVB home, according to the police.
The schools have activated their crisis groups and on Friday, the schools' and the city hall's flags will be flown at half-mast, writes the municipality on its website.
