Uppsala circumcision investigation closed for two suspects; doctor remains under investigation

The preliminary investigation into two of the suspects following circumcisions in Uppsala has been closed, DN reports. The doctor remains a suspect.

Three people were suspected of assault following a raid in Uppsala on October 25, when a doctor was performing circumcisions on boys. One boy was taken to hospital for surgery, and eight people were initially arrested.

The preliminary investigation has now been closed in relation to two of the suspects.

The doctor remains a suspect but denies any wrongdoing. He performs circumcisions on boys at a private practice, among other things. According to DN, he says he followed the laws and rules on anaesthesia and hygiene. The investigation will establish whether the procedures were performed under safe conditions.
