Film City Luxe in Uppsala has been affected by bed bugs and is now undergoing extensive sanitizing, writes Upsala New Times.

The cinema was supposed to open again on October 16, but the opening is now postponed to the beginning of November.

Filmstadens PR manager Irene Hernberg writes in an email to UNT that the cinema follows the recommendations from Anticimex and that all premises will be sanitized and then inspected.

The bugs were first discovered in the evening by a visitor, but the day after no bed bugs were found.

"This was a new situation for us, and the staff initially did not know what it was about", writes Irene Hernberg in the email.

Two and a half days later, the staff found lice in a cinema that they then closed. The same evening, Anticimex made an inspection and the morning after the entire cinema was closed.
