Several media outlets reported on Wednesday that the 35-year-old man who was killed in Upplands-Bro on Tuesday was not the intended victim. Prosecutor Jenny Östling tells TT that the investigation has not yet confirmed with certainty that this is the case.

We do not know for certain. But it is a person who is not known to the police at all. Given that he is not previously known, it is clear that the thought arises that it may be a mistaken shooting, says Jenny Östling.

She says that an intensive investigative work is underway and that no one has been detained, but does not want to comment further on what is happening.

At present, I will be very cautious considering where we are in the investigation, so I do not want to say much more at present.

It was around 22:00 on Tuesday that several callers alerted about a shooting in Upplands-Bro. At the scene, outdoors in central Bro, a gunshot wounded man was found and taken to hospital by ambulance. However, his life could not be saved.
