Over the past twenty years, the number of artists accepted has varied between 100 and 170. This year, 348 works by 255 artists between the ages of 18 and 81 have been selected from a total of 3,394 applications.
The works will be exhibited at Liljevalch's spring salon on Djurgården in Stockholm between February 13 and May 3.
The fact that so many were accepted is about the high quality of the applications, says Joanna Sandell Wright, director and artistic director of Liljevalchs, in a press release.
"It also manifests Liljevalchs as the artists' home and gives us proof of a recurring rich and broad participation."
