In a joint raid, the United States and Mexico seized 188 packages of cocaine from a ship in the Pacific Ocean.

According to a press release from the Mexican Navy, the operation was carried out in a coordinated manner, but the total weight of the drugs seized was not disclosed.

The U.S. has carried out a large number of attacks on vessels suspected of being used for drug smuggling in both the Pacific and Caribbean seas since last fall, but cooperation with Mexico is unusual.
