The football star has not played for United since December 12. Coach Ruben Amorim has left him out of the squad for every match since then, except for one, when he remained on the bench for the entire game.
Rashford has been heavily criticized for his form slump for a long time, and as recently as Sunday, Amorim announced that he would rather have the 63-year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital in the squad than the 27-year-old forward.
I'd rather take Vital than a player who's not willing to give it their all, he said according to BBC.
And now, another voice is joining Rashford's critics. It's Paul Scholes, who won eleven Premier League titles with United – and he's not mincing words.
I think Marcus has let many people down with his attitude, and I think that's what the coach is trying to say, says Scholes.
He continues:
I remember several years ago when I told the coach (Alex Ferguson) that I didn't want to play in an Arsenal match... he told me: "the worst thing is that you're letting your teammates down", and that has really stuck with me because I didn't think about it – and now I think Marcus Rashford is doing exactly the same thing.
And the betrayal should be punished, Scholes believes.
He should be kicked out of the dressing room, he says.
