United Airlines warns ticket prices could rise by 20 percent if jet fuel prices stay at current high level

The company has already been forced to reduce its capacity by 5 percent on routes that are not profitable and do not cover the high price of fuel.

United, the world's largest airline by capacity, has previously warned that oil prices could rise as high as $175 per barrel.
