Union ends strike at Boeing factories

Unions at the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing are ending a long-running strike.

The union voted to return to work and approve a new agreement. The strike began in the summer and the dissatisfaction concerned, among other things, wages and working hours. The strike concerned, among other things, the production of aircraft and defense systems.

A majority of the 3,000 strikers are returning to work, announces the local union District 837 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union.

Many strikers have demonstrated outside Boeing's facilities, including the factory in Everett, Washington state.
