Unexpected big Black Week boost for retail

Retail sales volume increased by 1.1 percent in November compared to the previous month in calendar-adjusted and seasonally adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB).

The increase was larger than expected. Analysts had on average expected a rise of 0.3 percent, according to Bloomberg.

Compared to the corresponding month in 2024, retail sales volume increased by 5.6 percent in November.

Retail sales of rare goods increased by 1.4 percent in November compared to the previous month, while grocery sales, excluding Systembolaget, increased by 0.7 percent.
