Among the heavyweights in the OMXS30 index, the defense group Saab rose 2.9 percent and the Wallenberg sphere's Investor rose 2.2 percent, but the rise was broad, with 24 of the 30 OMXS30 shares up.
During overnight trading, there were gains in Hong Kong and Seoul, which also point to an upward trend on leading European stock exchanges.
Crude oil prices are trending downward after last week's new highs in the Iran conflict. A barrel of North Sea oil costs around $109.
The dollar has also weakened slightly, down to 9.23 kronor from last week's peak of around 9.34 kronor.
Since the turn of the year, the OMXS30 index has risen 2.4 percent.
