The number of executions and death sentences in Iran is increasing dramatically, according to the UN. Since March 19, 2026, at least 56 people have been executed on charges related to national security, according to a statement from Volker Türk.
“Including 27 people in cases linked to the protests at the beginning of the year,” he said.
