In a new report from the UN's special rapporteur for the Palestinian areas, Frencesca Albanese, the Swedish Volvo Group is pointed out as one of the companies that enable the displacement of Palestinians, reports SVT News.

According to the report, heavy machinery from Volvo is used in connection with the demolition of houses and the development of illegal settlements.

"Since at least 2007, Volvo's machinery has been used to raze Palestinian areas to the ground", Albanese writes in the report.

The Swedish company is mentioned on several occasions in the report. A machine from Volvo is said to have been used, among other things, to demolish three houses in the village of Umm al Kheir on the Israel-occupied West Bank in February earlier this year. 14 people are said to have become homeless as a result of the incident.

A number of other companies are mentioned in the report, most of which are American.
