A total of 11,095 buildings were completely destroyed, comprising 17,891 homes, while 2,242 buildings suffered significant damage and a further 9,311 sustained minor damage.

The report, authored by the UN agency UNDP together with the Lebanese research institute CNRS, is based on comparisons of satellite images from late April - nearly two months into the war - and October 2025.

Israel has carried out extensive demolitions of houses in Lebanese villages near the border during its war against Hezbollah. In March, Israel's defense minister ordered the military to demolish buildings "of a similar magnitude to those in Rafah and Beit Hanoun" in Gaza.
