Israel's attacks and forced displacement of Palestinians raise concerns about ethnic cleansing; the UN Human Rights Office is sounding the alarm.

Israel's military actions during the Gaza War and its blockade of the area have created living conditions that are "increasingly incompatible with the continued existence of Palestinians as a group in Gaza," the UN human rights office, OHCHR, concluded in a report.

"Intensified attacks, methodical destruction of entire neighborhoods, and denial of humanitarian aid appear to be aimed at a permanent demographic change in Gaza," the office writes.

Regarding the occupied West Bank, the report notes that Israel has "systematically used unlawful force" and carried out "widespread illegal demolitions" of Palestinian homes to discriminate against, oppress and control the Palestinian people.

The report covers the period November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025.
