Israel's military accuses soldiers from the UN peacekeeping force Unfil of having shot down an Israeli drone over southern Lebanon.

According to the military's spokesperson Nadav Shoshani, the drone, which is said to have collected information, was shot down on Sunday.

"A preliminary investigation indicates that Unifil forces stationed in the vicinity intentionally shot down the drone. The drone's activity did not pose a threat to Unifil forces", says Shoshani on X.

Unifil in turn accuses Israel of having released a grenade from a drone near patrolling UN soldiers on Sunday, as well as having fired at the forces with a tank. Prior to that, an Israeli drone is said to have "flown over the Unifil patrol in an aggressive manner", writes Unifil on X.

No one is said to have been injured.
