According to the statement, Unifil personnel are said to have patrolled the so-called Blue Line, a demarcation line that in practice separates Lebanon and Israel.
“The peacekeepers requested through a communication channel that the Israeli military cease firing,” the statement said, which continued:
"Fortunately, no one was injured."
Israel has not commented on the incident.
