Several people working for the UN in Yemen's capital Sanaa have been taken captive by the Islamist Huthi movement. They are accused of espionage.

”Seven UN employees, all citizens of Yemen, have been arrested”, announced a source within the country's security organization.

The employees are accused of ”having spied for Israel”.

The Iran-backed Houthi movement and its security forces have made a system of depriving employees of, among other things, the UN of their freedom. Earlier in October, several UN employees were captured for several days during a raid on the UN office in the capital.
