A UN employee, his wife, six children and several of their relatives have been killed in an Israeli air raid on Jabalia in northern Gaza on Friday, according to the head of the UN Development Programme, UNDP. A total of 36 people died in the single attack.
"The grief after Ramzi and his family has paralyzed us. UN staff and civilians in Gaza are never, and must never, be targets", writes UNDP head Achim Steiner in a statement.
"The war must come to an end. A ceasefire must be reached so that no more atrocities occur. No family should have to endure the grief and suffering that Ramzi's loved ones, and so many others in Gaza, continue to be subjected to", he continues.
