"Terrorist organizations are shooting rockets at Israel from your area again", writes the Israeli military's spokesperson Avichay Adraee in a post on X, referring to people in the area around Khan Yunis.
"For your own safety, you must evacuate the area immediately and go to the humanitarian zone."
Earlier on Monday, UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the situation in war-torn Gaza is "frightful and apocalyptic". He warned of very serious conditions in the Palestinian area.
"Malnutrition is spreading, famine is imminent. And the healthcare system has collapsed", he said.
Guterres' comments were read out at a conference in Cairo, Egypt, aimed at increasing the influx of emergency aid to the Hamas-ruled area. He also emphasized that Gaza now has the highest rate of amputated children per capita in the world, and that many young people are forced to undergo operations without anesthesia.
The Gaza war started with the large-scale attack by terrorist-designated Hamas against Israel on October 7 last year. Israel responded by besieging Gaza, bombing the area continuously, and sending in ground forces to eliminate Hamas – which has claimed tens of thousands of civilian lives.
