It is crucial that the UN maintains its peacekeeping forces in Lebanon even after its current mission expires at the end of the year, Secretary-General António Guterres said on Monday.
In a report to the UN Security Council, which AFP has seen, Guterres proposes three options for a new operation, ranging from just under 2,000 soldiers to more than 5,500, who will monitor the ceasefire and support Lebanon's regular army.
