Fifty tonnes of emergency aid en route to people affected by the war in Sudan has been destroyed.
The convoy that was attacked in western Darfur contained, among other things, blankets, water containers and solar lamps.
"Thousands of people who depend on this support will now be left without the urgent assistance they need," UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said in a statement.
Since war broke out in Sudan between the army and the paramilitary group RSF in 2023, many social functions in the country have collapsed. Tens of thousands of people have been killed in the fighting and more than 12 million have been forced to flee, according to the UN.
