In the end of May, the four members of Abba received the Vasa Order from King Carl Gustaf at Stockholm Palace. A rare joint public appearance for the pop icons – and perhaps the last.
This is stated by Björn Ulvaeus in the podcast "Rosebud with Gyles Brandreth", according to the music magazine NME. In the interview, Ulvaeus reflects on the award ceremony and is asked whether the members still meet.
Publicly, we do it very rarely. Frida (Anni-Frid Lyngstad) said to me afterwards: "This might be the last time". It's very sad, and I thought about it afterwards. But we're not getting any younger, says Ulvaeus.
The award ceremony was the first occasion when Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fältskog gathered publicly since the premiere of the show "Voyage" in London two years ago.
