Linus Ullmark is temporarily stepping away from the ice. The Ottawa goalie is taking a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons. “Linus has our full support during this time,” Ottawa general manager Steve Staios said in a statement.

The NHL club communicated the decision via X:

"Ottawa's Chief Hockey Officer and General Manager Steve Staios announced today that goaltender Linus Ullmark will be taking a leave of absence from the team for personal reasons."

Staios also outlined the club's stance on the situation.

"Out of respect for Linus, we will not be making any further comments."

The reason for the leave is therefore still unclear.

Ullmark has been with Ottawa since last season and has appeared in 72 games for the club.

In total, the 32-year-old goalie has played in 319 NHL games in his career.
