Ukraine is invited to the EU's free phone roaming from the turn of the year.
"We want Ukrainian citizens to be able to stay in touch with their loved ones across the entire EU, as well as in their home country. That's why we propose that Ukraine joins our roaming family", says the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in a press release.
If it is approved by the EU countries, it means that Ukrainians from January 1, 2026, can make calls from their Ukrainian mobile phones in the EU for the same cost as in their home country. The same rules will then also apply to EU citizens visiting Ukraine.
