Several people are said to have been killed and injured, says Bretjalov, without going into how many people are involved.

In Izhevsk, there are several facilities that manufacture weapons and drones. An unverified video clip on social media shows how the roof of a building explodes. Bretjalov writes on Telegram that drones have hit an "enterprise".

A Ukrainian source told AFP on Tuesday that Ukrainian drones attacked facilities that produce military products in the city.

"Every such special operation reduces the enemy's offensive potential," the source says in a written comment to the news agency.

The information has not been confirmed by an independent party and has not been commented on by Ukraine.

Ukraine's military chief Oleksandr Syrskyj said a week ago that he wants to expand attacks on targets on Russian territory.

We are going to increase the attacks in scope and intensity, Syrskyj said then.
