Ukrainian overnight attacks plunged large parts of Crimea into darkness after a substation in southern Russia was hit, The Kyiv Independent reports.

The network monitoring service NetBlocks confirmed overnight that the internet was down in Crimea.

A petrochemical plant in the Samara region, an airfield in Krasnodar and a large electronics factory in Oryol were also reportedly attacked by Ukraine late Friday or overnight into Saturday. In occupied Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine, three people have been killed, a Russian-installed governor said on Telegram.

According to the Defense Ministry in Moscow, Russian air defenses have shot down a total of more than 600 Ukrainian drones, around 80 of them over the southern Rostov region.
