The Ukrainian military leadership shares an image showing a facility on fire, which is difficult to verify. It is claimed to be an oil refinery in the city of Engels, which supplies the large airbase Engels-2 with fuel.

The airbase houses Russia's strategic bomber planes, which can be used for larger-scale attacks at long distances, in theory with nuclear weapons.

"Several explosions were registered in the target area and a large-scale fire broke out", writes the Ukrainian military, adding that the destruction causes significant problems for Russia's strategic air force capabilities.

The governor of the Russian region of Saratov writes on social media that several Ukrainian drones have attacked an "industrial facility" in Engels. According to him, all drones were shot down, but he adds that parts of the drones fell into the facility and reports a larger deployment of firefighters there.

According to the governor's information, no one was injured. According to the military in Moscow, a total of eleven drones were shot towards Saratov as a region.

In Ukraine, authorities in the partially occupied region of Kherson report that two people have been killed in Russian attacks with drones and artillery.
