Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will visit China on Tuesday. There, he will hold talks about the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, announces Ukraine's Foreign Ministry.
China has not condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and called last year for a "political agreement" to end the war. According to many Western countries, such an agreement would lead to Russia retaining large parts of the areas the country has taken control of in Ukraine.
"The main discussion topic will be to seek ways to stop Russian aggression and China's possible role in achieving a sustainable and just peace," writes Ukraine's Foreign Ministry in a statement.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Mao Ning, the meeting is taking place at the initiative of China's Foreign Minister.
