Ukraine’s Air Force Says Air-Raid Alert App Was Hacked After False Radiation Warning

The Ukrainian Air Force is warning citizens that an air-raid alert app has been hacked. “There is no radiation threat! Stay calm!” the air force wrote in a message.

The Ukrainian population was warned on Sunday evening of the danger of radioactive radiation and street fighting in the capital, Kyiv.

But the alerts were false, the military says, adding that an app that warns of airstrikes and other dangers had been hacked.

Kyiv’s own app is said to be working as usual. It has also reportedly said there is no immediate risk of radiation or airstrikes.

Ukrainians are also urged not to click on third-party links or spread unconfirmed rumours.
