Ukraine uses AI-powered air defenses to shoot down Russian drones at bridges and key sites

Ukraine's armed forces have installed air defense systems that use AI technology to protect bridges and key infrastructure from Russian drones, Ukrainian Pravda reports.

The air defense systems consist of remotely operated towers that use machine-gun fire to shoot down incoming drones, Yuri Ihnat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces told the newspaper. AI is used to calculate the drones' flight paths.

Machine vision is used to shoot them down. Artificial intelligence makes it possible to combat even jet-powered drones, Ihnat says.

Ihnat also said in an interview with national television that enemy drones had already been shot down.

Ukraine has struggled to find effective countermeasures against Russian jet-powered drones.
