The newly developed robot is intended as a cheaper alternative to the American Patriot system or the Franco-Italian SAMP-T for countering ballistic missiles and drones from Russia.
An FP-7.X robot is estimated to cost $700,000, compared with $3.8 million per Patriot robot, according to Shtilierman.
Shtilierman adds that larger-scale production could begin in August this year, but that much depends on deliveries of search equipment from German Diehl Defence.
Fire Point is also said to have held talks with German Hensoldt, French Thales, Italian Leonardo and Norwegian Kongsberg about cooperating to develop the air defense system.
