Ukraine is sending 1,000 tons of flour to the Palestinian territories, announces the country's Foreign Ministry on the X platform.
"The shipment is the first of three deliveries intended for Palestine. It will support over 101,000 Palestinian families for a month", writes the Ministry on X.
Kiev has launched the initiative "Grain for Ukraine" in an attempt to ensure that Russia's large-scale invasion does not threaten Ukraine's position as one of the world's largest agricultural exporters.
Ukraine does not specify whether the flour is intended for Gaza, where a large part of the population suffers from famine according to the UN.
Kiev was a major grain exporter to the Palestinians before Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.
