Kyiv announces that the remains of 909 Ukrainian soldiers who fell during the Russian invasion war have been returned to Ukraine.
According to the responsible authority for prisoners of war, the return of the fallen is the largest so far during the ongoing war.
The soldiers fell in battles in several regions, including Pokrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Bachmut, and Luhansk, reports the Ukrainian newspaper Kyiv Independent. A number of the fallen had been stored in Russian morgues. The coordinating authority for prisoners of war specifically thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for their involvement in the return.
